Winter-Warming Chili

- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 can (15 oz.) diced tomatoes, no added sugar
- 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce, no added sugar
- 1 cup beef or chicken broth
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 zucchini, diced
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp. cumin
- salt and pepper to taste
Make the chili in a large pot. Brown the ground beef and turkey. (You can add the onions and pepper at this time or wait, depending on how soft you like them.) Drain off any excess fat.Ā (If you use all turkey, it would be a fuel pull. If you use 96/4% ground beef it would also be a fuel pull and you wouldnā€™t need to drain the meat.)
Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and broth, stirring to combine.
Add the bell pepper, onion, zucchini, and seasonings. Simmer on low for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
